New Home for Fred & Milly Dunfey in Tucson Foothills!!!

Today, we are closing on our new home in the Tucson Catalina Mountain Foothills.

We love our home in Vail, AZ. We love the Tucson area. However, we found ourselves traveling into Tucson almost every day. This was about 20 miles each way. We had expected to play almost all our Pickleball at our Del Webb courts. All the best players here are travelling to other places. Our local Pickleball Club tried to keep everything simple. That led to not providing what advanced players wanted. Volunteer activity also took us into Tucson.

We decided that moving to a Pickleball mecca like Quail Creek in Green Valley with its 16 Courts was too far from Tucson for us. We found playing competitive Pickleball at Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club met our needs. Fred has been helping run advanced skilled ladders and round robins there this past winter. We also play at Village Green in Tucson. Other players go to Tucson Park Dept Indoor facilities.

We investigated many options all over the Tucson area before deciding on moving to  the Sunrise Presidio Townhome community. The later is located between two hilltop ridges. Our home in nestled in the valley within a block of the pool, 4 Pickleball Courts and a Tennis Court. The town homes are all slump brick construction terraced from the top of the ridge down to the valley. Each town home has a Brick Wall separating it from its neighbor. They are clustered in 1-4 units per cluster in such as way the everyone has privacy and views. We have an end unit facing common land filled with high desert foliage. It is a beautiful location.

We are a mile from a Tucson Library Branch and a shopping Center. Almost everything in Tucson is within a very short drive.

It is a smaller house. We are adding a Murphy bed in second bedroom to give us more usable space. We are having a new roof put in when we move in (Its a Flat Roof). We are excited about moving. Anyone want to move to Vail, AZ. Our home there is up for sale!
